Five primary spices are used in yogi chai. Cardamom and ginger are considered sattvic, believed to stimulate spiritual purity. These spices also can help to reduce mucus, relieve gas, calm the stomach, stimulate Agni, and eliminate ama (toxins). Cinnamon is similar to cardamom and ginger in properties and is also good for the circulation and the heart. Clove benefits as Aids in digestion boosts the immune system, provides relief from headaches, protects the liver , bacterial infection, helps in controlling blood sugar, and provides relief from inflammation and pain.

Place 1 heaped teaspoon per 200mls, brew 5-10 minutes in fresh boiling water at 100 degrees celsius. Add honey if required, to sweeten.
